All memberships expire annually
AANA Memberships are for a pre-paid term from September 1 through August 31. The full amount is due September 1 annually, with a 60-day grace period to pay, and dues are not prorated. This means that regardless of when you pay for your annual membership, it will expire on August 31, and your member benefits will no longer be accessible on November 1 if not renewed.
Canceling an annual auto-renewal
Within the renewal form, you can switch your renewal type to remove the auto-draft or request to end your membership. Please do so before September 1.
Caution: If you have NOT removed your auto-renew preference from your account, your card will be drafted on or around September 1. You will be notified one week prior to the draft.
Canceling a quarterly installment auto-renewal
Within the renewal form, you can switch your renewal type to remove the auto-draft at the beginning of the year.
The installments spread your annual payment into four equal payments. You are responsible for all four payments, even if you would like to cancel. You may request to end your membership, but please note that if you have any remaining installments due within that membership year, they will be drafted automatically at the time of cancellation.
You're expected to maintain an active card on file. If you fail to complete an installment payment, that will result in a loss of your membership. To reinstate your membership, you must update your card on file and catch up on your payments.
Canceling due to retirement
You may request to end your membership and choose to become an Emeritus member if you meet these eligibility requirements:
- Have at least 25 years of Active membership with the AANA
- Are no longer practicing
Canceling due to a leave of absence or moonlighting
You can downgrade your membership to Inactive status for $50 per year while still maintaining your member benefits like access to insurance, advocacy, and other AANA resources.
Within the renewal form, you can switch your renewal type to Inactive or request to change your membership.
Note: If you are an Inactive, Associate, or Emeritus Member (or if you are not a member) you will not be able to apply for Class A credits or see your CE transcript. Access your membership dashboard to view your membership type.
